Nearly a century ago, Alfred Fain opened a small Rhode Island tire shop. From those roots, Teknor Apex has grown into a global custom compounder with nine U.S. sites and operations in Belgium, Singapore, Germany, and China—still privately held and led by the Fain family.

Step into our QC lab on 1st shift and you’ll start your day with a queue of raw material and in-process samples. You’ll follow established methods to evaluate them, make precise batch adjustments, and document everything with care. Trendlines guide your decisions—especially around color—so you’ll spot shifts early and fine-tune to spec. Along the way, you’ll run gage R & R studies, communicate clearly with the shift supervisor, and keep production moving with confidence.

What you’ll do

• Execute standardized tests on raw materials and in-process samples; record and report results.
• Apply approved procedures to make batch adjustments; verify outcomes against targets.
• Complete gage R & R studies and other assigned lab tasks to support quality systems.
• Analyze complex numerical datasets; identify trends and adjust color accordingly.
• Use Windows-based tools, MS Word/Excel/Outlook, Lotus Notes, and quality control software to manage data and communication.

What you bring

• Strong math aptitude and keen attention to detail; comfortable interpreting complex data.
• Ability to work 1st shift immediately; reliable attendance and dependability.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills; collaborative with the shift supervisor.
• Full color vision with shade discrimination; experience with color analysis and adjustment preferred.
• Proficiency with Windows OS, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Lotus Notes, and basic QC software.
• Above-average decision-making; able to work independently and support overtime as needed.

Education/Experience

• Associate degree in a science discipline; or 1–3 years of related color experience/training ; or an equivalent blend of education and experience.
• Background in manufacturing and warehouse environments is a plus.
