GTAW Welder Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled GTAW Welder to join our team and contribute to the fabrication of pressure-containing steel vessels. This vital role requires a detail-oriented professional capable of interpreting drawings and specifications to deliver precise welds that meet industry standards. The successful candidate will play a crucial part in ensuring the safety and quality of our projects in a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment.
Responsibilities:
We are seeking a skilled GTAW Welder to join our team and contribute to the fabrication of pressure-containing steel vessels. This vital role requires a detail-oriented professional capable of interpreting drawings and specifications to deliver precise welds that meet industry standards. The successful candidate will play a crucial part in ensuring the safety and quality of our projects in a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform GTAW welding, including GMAW/FCAW and/or SAW processes, on various types of steel vessels.
- Weld carbon and stainless steel based on drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
- Read and interpret drawings and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) to determine the appropriate welding process.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and OSHA requirements within the welding environment.
- Follow oral and written instructions accurately and efficiently.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members and other departments.
- Complete additional tasks and duties as required.
- High school education (GED) or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of welding experience is a plus.
- Current eligibility to work in the United States.
- Knowledge of vessel fabrication practices, welding concepts, and procedures.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and requirements.
- Ability to weld to AWS and ASME code, with 100% x-ray inspection.
- Successful completion of a 6G position test using GMAW/FCAW plus GTAW or Sub Arc test.
- Physical capability to perform tasks typical within a welding shop environment, including the use of PPE such as safety glasses and steel-toe boots.
