The Teller II conducts transactions with speed, accuracy, and efficiency, meeting or exceeding service quality standards while safeguarding bank assets assigned to them. This role contributes to the bank's growth by promoting and cross-selling bank products and services.
Essential duties and responsibilities include receiving and paying out cash, handling negotiable items, loan payments, deposits, withdrawals, and transfers. The Teller II sets up, closes, and balances the teller station, records sales of monetary instruments, and maintains a neat and well-stocked teller area. They cross-sell bank products and services, follow limits established for protection of customer accounts and bank safety, and adhere to bank policies and procedures. They assist with balancing Vault, ATM, Night Drop, Coin Machine as assigned, and proper scanning of bank documents and proof work. The Teller II exercises judgment when applying holds and making check cashing decisions, cross-trains to open basic new consumer accounts, and maintains a positive, friendly, and professional attitude and appearance. They perform miscellaneous duties as assigned, complete required BSA/AML and other compliance training, lift coin bags up to 50 lbs, and work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. They may be required to work an alternative location within the region or market.

Education and experience: Mental alertness and adaptability to office and field area work routines. Equivalent to four years high school or GED, with particular emphasis during high school in office skills, shop skills, or others, plus 12 to 18 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Communication skills: Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with customers, clients, general public, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers. Ability to perform these mathematical skills using money and other forms of measurement.
Critical thinking skills: Ability to use common sense understanding in order to carry out simple multi-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with limited variables.
Preferred certificates, licenses, registrations: Not indicated.
Software skills required: Basic: 10-Key, Spreadsheet, Word Processing/Typing.
