Carilion Clinic Breast Care Center is adding a Breast Imager to its comprehensive program of dedicated expertise in breast imaging, surgery, pathology and operations. A highly innovative practice environment exists in collaboration with the Virginia Tech School of Medicine. The position includes the opportunity to teach and mentor medical students as well as to conduct original clinical research in a mutually supportive environment with core specialties. However, research is not required. Other aspects of the Breast Care Center include:

• Nationally recognized quality program
• Five outreach screening locations
• 27,000 screening mammograms annually
• 35,000 exams annually
• Dedicated diagnostic center, 8,500 square feet
• Separate interpretation areas within the diagnostic center for optimal environment for breast interpretation
• New Carilion Taubman Cancer Center featuring proton therapy opening in .

Programmatic advances include high risk genetics program with dedicated genetics counselor, two interdisciplinary patient care conferences, and continuous evolution through a committed Breast Program Leadership Team. Comprehensive services provide prevention, early detection, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and research in collaboration with other departments within our flagship 763-bed teaching/tertiary medical center.

Breast Center procedures include:

• Screening mammograms (3D)
• Diagnostic mammograms (3D)
• Ultrasound
• US Invasive procedures: needle localization, needle core biopsy, and cyst
• aspiration
• Stereotactic imaging for core biopsy
• Galactography
• Breast MRI
• MR guided core biopsies

Minimum Qualifications:

• Completion of Fellowship training in Breast Imaging, required
• Board Certified/Board Eligible, American Board of Radiology, required

The posted salary range may not reflect the full value of the total compensation package. You are eligible to participate in the Tier 1 and Tier 2 bonus compensation programs to improve the minimum salary. Historical averages of Tier 1 and Tier 2 bonus earnings are included in the maximum salary. In addition, comprehensive benefits and pension offerings further enhance the overall rewards package
