Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Current nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - MS/Tele nursing experience - Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias - Telemetry monitoring experience (both on-unit and remote) - Familiarity with Rapid Response Teams - Colostomy care and feeding tube management - Renal failure management and blood product administration - Peripheral line care and management - Phlebotomy skills - PICC line management experience - Knowledge of insulin administration, isolation precautions, and chest tube management - Experience with CPAP/BiPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and non-invasive airway management - Capability to interpret arterial blood gases - Familiarity with oxygen face masks, portable oxygen tanks, and tracheostomy management Description: This position is for a registered nurse specializing in a medical/surgical/telemetry setting. The focus will be on providing care to patients waiting for an inpatient bed. Patients will present with various medical and surgical adult diagnoses. There may also be assignments involving PCU level patients. Travelers are expected to handle MS/Tele cases and may float to other areas as needed. The target patient ratios are set at 1:6 for MS/Tele and 1:4 for PCU levels. Every other weekend work is required. The nurse may also participate in emergency preparedness efforts. Candidates must be flexible and willing to float within the facility.
