Field Service Technician (MEM) (Full-time/Days)

Job Title

Skilled position responsible for installation, set up, repair and ongoing maintenance of vending, cooling and/or fountain equipment at customer accounts.

Job duties include diagnosing equipment problems, using judgment to determine how to best repair or replace, working independently, and having frequent customer contact. The position may require lifting, carrying, pulling and/or moving between 20 and 45 pounds repeatedly over workday, and requires kneeling, squatting, crouching, crawling and bending when making repairs, often in low places. Position may require moving vending machines weighing 800-1200 pounds.

Primary responsibilities include repairing and performing preventative maintenance on marketing equipment, unloading and reloading with products as necessary, educating customers on basic equipment repair and upkeep procedures, installing equipment by making holes and route lines to connect products to dispensing unit, connecting water and gas supply and finding drains for units with ice, filling installed equipment and adjusting to proper mixture, prioritizing and scheduling service and PM calls to meet customer service windows, driving to location, evaluating situation and performing necessary work (may include plumbing, electricity, refrigeration, carpentry), collecting accurate and complete equipment and customer information, removing old parts and replacing with new parts, maintaining parts inventory on service truck, establishing positive relationship with contacts at service calls, and after each call, completing paperwork on job and call in paperwork every two hours. The position also requires transporting miscellaneous items (e.g., compressors for repair/scrap, cardboard for recycle, etc.) and regular, reliable, predictable attendance.

Basic qualifications include being 18 years or older, adhering to DOT regulations, senior technician requires certification in refrigeration, and must be able to pass refrigeration certification Type I/Type II practices (if applicable). Helpful experience includes working with mechanical systems, serving customers, working with basic refrigeration systems, working with electrical systems, working with plumbing, generating and setting work schedules, and equipment installation.
