About the Role

The Company is seeking an Interim Senior Counsel with a focus on energy infrastructure and commercial contracts. The successful candidate will be responsible for the review, drafting, revision, and negotiation of a significant volume of commercial agreements related to energy infrastructure, project development, equipment procurement, vendor services, land work, leases, and operational buildout. This role also involves assisting the legal team in managing a backlog of critical agreements in a dynamic, high-growth environment, and supporting a range of contracts associated with power generation, grid infrastructure, utility arrangements, and construction-adjacent work. The Interim Senior Counsel will be expected to identify and escalate key legal and business risks and to work closely with the General Counsel, Deputy General Counsel, paralegal support, and internal business stakeholders to ensure the efficient movement of agreements through the review and execution process. Applicants for this position should have a J.D. from an accredited law school, active bar membership, and a strong background in commercial contracting, particularly in the areas of vendor agreements, services agreements, equipment purchase agreements, procurement contracts, leases, and land-related agreements. Experience in energy infrastructure, power generation, utilities, grid, data centers, construction, or large-scale real estate development is highly preferred. The role requires the ability to quickly triage a backlog of agreements, provide practical and business-oriented legal support, and possess strong issue-spotting, drafting, negotiation, and communication skills. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently in a lean legal team and be available to work remotely during Texas business hours. Prior experience as in-house, interim, fractional, or consulting counsel is also a plus.
