About the Role:
Same Life Services is seeking dependable and patient Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide support in a Supported Living setting. This position supports higher-functioning adults with developmental disabilities who are working toward maintaining independence in their home and community.

This role focuses on guidance, structure, and support with daily routines rather than full physical care.

Responsibilities:

• Support individuals with daily routines, including meal preparation, clean-up, and household tasks
• Provide medication management support, including reminders or monitoring self-administration as trained and authorized
• Encourage independence while offering guidance and support as needed
• Assist with community outings and transportation to activities of the individual’s choice
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized home environment
• Complete daily notes and documentation in the agency’s online documentation system accurately and on time
• Monitor and document behaviors and progress according to individual support plans
• Provide supervision and ensure safety within the home and community
• Follow all agency policies, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements
• Provide respectful, professional support that maintains dignity and appropriate boundaries

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Experience in a role providing care or support to individuals with disabilities
• Valid driver’s license required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently in a home setting
• Calm, patient, and able to support individuals in a respectful and encouraging manner
• Professional, reliable, and able to maintain appropriate boundaries
• Must pass background checks and meet all hiring requirements
• Willingness to obtain and maintain required certifications, including CPR/First Aid, 32-Hour Medication Aide Training, Therapeutic Options of Virginia (TOVA), and all other agency-required trainings

Shifts Available:

• Weekday Mornings: 6:00 AM – 9:00 AM 
• Weekday Evenings: 4:30 PM – 9:30 PM 
• Weekend Day Shift: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
