Our Enterprise Data & Analytics, Claims Analytics, and Technology teams are growing—and we’re looking for Data Engineers at multiple levels to help power the future of data at The Hanover. POSITIONS OVERVIEW:In these roles, you will play a key part in designing and delivering scalable, secure, and high-performing data solutions that enable analytics, reporting, and strategic decision-making across the organization. You’ll work hands-on with modern data platforms and collaborate with cross-functional partners to transform complex data into actionable insights.Whether you’re early in your career building foundational skills or an experienced engineer leading enterprise-scale initiatives, you’ll contribute to a data-driven culture by developing reliable pipelines, advancing data quality and governance, and continuously improving our cloud-based data ecosystem.These are full-time, exempt roles. POSITIONS SUMMARY:Depending on your level, you’ll:Design, build, and optimize data pipelines and ETL workflowsDevelop scalable data models, data structures, and data integrationsWork with modern cloud platforms including Azure Synapse, Data Factory, Data Lake, and DatabricksEnsure data quality, governance, security, and compliancePartner with business stakeholders, analysts, and data scientistsContribute to or lead complex, cross-functional data initiativesImprove platform reliability through monitoring, validation, and automationCreate clear documentation, runbooks, and data lineageMentor junior engineers (Senior-level roles)Technology Stack includes: Azure Data Services (Synapse, Data Factory, ADLS)Databricks, Delta Tables, Spark / PySparkSQL / T-SQL, Python (plus Java/Scala in some teams)Power BI and analytics toolsCI/CD via GitHub / Azure DevOpsAssociate Data Engineer (0–2 years)Build foundational skills in ETL, cloud data platforms, and data architectureWork alongside experienced engineers to deliver scalable solutionsIdeal for candidates with strong SQL/Python fundamentals and a passion for learningData Engineer II (up to 5+ years)Own development of pipelines, models, and datasetsDrive improvements in data quality, governance, and performanceWork independently across multiple projects with business impactSenior Data Engineer (5+ years)Lead complex data initiatives and architectural decisionsDesign enterprise-scale data solutions in AzureMentor engineers and help establish best practicesDrive innovation in reliability, scalability, and cost efficiencyWHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related fieldMust be eligible to work in the US without requiring any sponsorship, now or in the future (Law Permanent Residence or US CitizenExperience with data engineering, ETL/ELT, and data modelingProficiency in SQL and Python (advanced at senior levels)Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skillsExperience with cloud data platforms (Azure preferred)Passion for building high-quality, reliable data solutionsBONUS POINTS FOR:Azure certifications (DP-203, DP-700)Databricks / Data Lake experiencePower BI or analytics experienceInsurance or claims data knowledgeJobFamilyData - Data EngineeringJobFunctionData and AnalyticsPayTypeSalaryHiringMinRate75000HiringMaxRate125000
