Operations Manager

Due to multiple retirements, elite manufacturer is seeking an Operations Manager to attain immediate management and continuous improvement responsibilities of a key area of their low volume manufacturing plant. Working with cutting edge technology on a daily basis, the Operations Manager will oversee direct and indirect reports while reporting to the CEO of this privately held company. Daily you will be responsible for the following tasks:

• Leading the machining and assembly production areas of new equipment production
• Overseeing machining, fabrication, assembly, programming, manufacturing engineering and facilities
• Taking ownership of safety, quality, KPIs, employee development, productivity and continuous improvement of an established area
• Managing and reviewing the cost for the business unit, including budgets
• Participating within the leadership team to meet company objectives
• Developing and attaining goals, objectives and targeted measurables of the overseen manufacturing area
• Holding others accountable to established goals and directives
• Proposing and monitoring capital and facility improvements
• Identifying process improvements to decrease scrap, increase efficiencies and find cost savings
• Coaching, mentoring, developing and leading direct and indirect reports
• Adjusting manning as needed, based on production schedules and goals
• Completing root cause analysis and developing countermeasures for improvements
• Other duties as directed by the CEO

Requirements for the Operations Manager:

1. Ideally a Bachelor's degree; a technical field of study is preferred
2. Minimum of 3-5 years of similar manufacturing operations management experience
3. Experience working in machining environments
4. Experience working at an OEM and/or complex manufacturing environment; low volume manufacturing is ideal
5. Experience overseeing direct and indirect reports
6. Experience completing CI functions, including scrap reductions, improving line efficiencies, etc.
7. Experience overseeing budgets
8. Experience overseeing manufacturing operations in non-union work environments
9. Working knowledge of ERP systems
10. Microsoft Office, specifically Excel

Skills preferred but NOT required:

• Formal Lean and/or Six Sigma certifications
• Experience overseeing multiple departments, ideally maintenance, production, engineering, etc.
• Working for an international company
