Extrusion Production Manager
We are specifically seeking an experienced Plastics Extrusion Production Manager with direct extrusion manufacturing leadership experience.
A growing manufacturing company in the Kent area is seeking an experienced Extrusion Production Manager to lead a 24/7 plastics extrusion operation. This role oversees extrusion production, maintenance, scheduling, equipment uptime, staffing, and continuous improvement initiatives across the plant.
This is a highly visible leadership role with the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on operations, production efficiency, equipment reliability, and team development within a growing manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily plastics extrusion production operations across multiple lines and shifts
- Manage Production Supervisors, Operators, and Maintenance Technicians
- Drive production output, uptime, efficiency, and schedule attainment
- Oversee preventive maintenance and equipment reliability
- Partner with Supply Chain and leadership on production scheduling and priorities
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, GMP, SQF, and food manufacturing standards
- Monitor OEE, downtime, scrap, and operational performance metrics
Qualifications
- 5+ years of plastics manufacturing leadership experience required
- Direct plastic extrusion operations experience required
- Strong understanding of extrusion equipment and troubleshooting
- Experience leading teams in a high-volume manufacturing environment
- Experience with preventive maintenance and equipment reliability
- Knowledge of OSHA and manufacturing safety standards
- ERP and CMMS experience required
- Food manufacturing or SQF experience preferred
- Experience in a 24/7 manufacturing environment preferred
