Travel Nurse Position in Garden City, KS

Unit Notes Hiring Process: Candidate Interview Interview with MedSol Clinical Team- No Unit Manager involvement Radius: 60 MILES, DL must be submitted Floating roles: Travelers are expected to float throughout the zone they are hired into. Each zone covers a 60 mile radius from the zone's city center which is where the 60 mile verbiage comes into play. The traveler is responsible for obtaining housing that makes this feasible as the requirement to float throughout the full 60 mile zone applies regardless of where the traveler obtains housing. Week of orientation: Please ensure clinicians are in state for week of orientation even if first day modules are completed remotely Traveler can't miss more than 3 shifts in a 13 week contract! Can make up on the front and back end of RTO *MUST submit a 2 week notice to avoid back out penalty fee** NO HOME BASE FACILITY!

ALL TRAVELERS CAN FLOAT WITHIN Zone 4 (Based around Garden City, KS): Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital -54 miles from Garden City Center 415 N Main St Ulysses, KS St. Catherine- Dodge City - 54 miles from Garden City Center 3001 Avenue A Dodge City, KS St. Catherine- Garden City - 2 miles from Garden City Center 401 E Spruce St Garden City, KS

Schedules are released 46 weeks in advance and follow one of two formats:

• Option A: Scheduled at a single facility for the week May float within that facility if needed
• Option B Just-In-Time (JIT): Facility assigned 12 hours before shift start via call

Unit/Department: MS-Tele Float

What units are included in the float pool: Multiple units ranging from General MS-Tele into various specialities from Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Rehab, Renal, Bariatrics, Ortho, Trauma, & ED

Obs Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:5-6 based on acuity

Required Certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?): BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Population: Adults- Geriatrics Cardiac, Neuro, Ortho, Oncology, Renal, Urology-post surgicals, General Surgery-post appy, Gynecology, Psych/Detox, ENT, General Medicine, stable long term placement patients, and more

Experience or 'Must have' skills: Must have 2 years of MS-Tele experience in the last 3 years Prefer prior neuro experience Prefer Alaris and EPIC experience

Are RNs required to titrate drips? Heparin Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Charge Nurse/House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? Designated Charge on each unit; doesn't take a patient assignment unless necessary; more common for night shift charge to end up with a small pt assignment Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios: Yes RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc): Yes Is there tele on this unit? Monitor Techs? RNs read strips?: Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?): 7-7, Schedule is made out by leadership for 6 wks at a time, travelers are expected to be flexible and help to fill gaps in permanent scheduling. All time off requests need to be submitted prior to starting assignment

Weekend Requirements: 6-9 weekend shifts in a 6 week schedule Holiday Requirements: May be asked to go into the Holiday Rotation Is there a call or standby requirement? Rare, for low census How are units assigned? i.e. via text message, daily sheet assignments, set schedule? May be asked to float into any other acuity level; ICU (take low acuity holds within skillset), PCU/Stepdown, & MS-Tele
