Analyst / Senior Analyst, Commercial Analysis

The Role Madison Energy is seeking an Analyst or Senior Analyst to join our Commercial Analysis team, supporting investment decisions, financial modeling, and commercial strategy across our renewable energy portfolio. The appropriate level will be determined based on the candidate's experience and background. The Analyst / Senior Analyst will work closely with business development, investment, and operations teams to evaluate market opportunities, assess risk, and translate complex analysis into clear, actionable recommendations. This role is well-suited for someone who is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and eager to contribute to disciplined capital deployment in the growing renewable energy sector. Responsibilities Investment & Market Analysis Evaluate investment opportunities across renewable energy assets, including solar, wind, and energy storage Track and evaluate market rule changes, regulatory developments, and policy updates that impact project economics and investment strategy Commercial & Financial Modeling Build, maintain, and refine financial models for renewable generation, standalone storage, and hybrid projects Support investment underwriting, project valuation, and scenario analysis using market forecasts and key commercial assumptions Perform sensitivity analyses on pricing, revenue, and cost assumptions to inform capital deployment decisions Strategy & Deal Support Assist with diligence for project acquisitions and new development opportunitiesSupport commercial strategy related to offtake structures, market participation, and risk management Partner with internal teams to align market and financial insights with project design, siting, and execution decisions Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in economics, engineering, finance, mathematics, or a related quantitative field Analyst: 0–2 years of relevant experience in renewable energy, investment analysis, financial modeling, energy consulting, or a related field Senior Analyst: 2+ years of relevant experience in renewable energy, investment analysis, financial modeling, energy consulting, or a related field Strong financial modeling skills and comfort working with large datasets Advanced Excel skills; experience with Python, R, SQL, or similar analytical tools preferred Ability to synthesize complex analysis into clear, decision-oriented recommendations Preferred Experience with or exposure to renewable energy transactions, offtake agreements, or project finance Familiarity with U.S. wholesale electricity markets and ISO/RTO market structures Experience with market forecasting tools or vendors (e.g., Aurora, PLEXOS, Enverus, Wood Mackenzie) What We Value Intellectual rigor and attention to detail.
