Home Inspector

V&M Systems Group is a Virginia-based aerial operations company delivering roof inspections, infrastructure inspection, and aerial data capture. We're hiring a Virginia-licensed home inspector to lead our residential roof inspection reports, working alongside our drone pilots.

Your signed reports will serve as authorized-inspector reports under Virginia's roof insurance law, which takes effect January 1, 2027.

What you'll do

• Inspect residential asphalt shingle roofs across Virginia, on site and with close-range drone imagery our pilots capture under your direction
• Determine roof age, condition, and remaining useful life
• Document damage, defects, installation problems, deterioration, and moisture intrusion
• Write and sign clear, neutral reports for homeowners and insurance carriers
• Set the capture standards our pilots fly to

You report what the roof shows. You won't sell repairs, adjust claims, or give coverage opinions.

Must have

• Active Virginia home inspector license in good standing (DPOR)
• 2+ years of residential inspection experience, including asphalt shingle roofs
• Clear, accurate report writing
• Ability to work on site, including ladder and roof access
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel across Virginia

Preferred

• Haag Certified Inspector – Residential Roofs
• Insurance inspection, underwriting, or claims experience
• Roofing trade background
• FAA Part 107 certificate, or experience working from drone imagery
• Home inspector licenses in neighboring states

Compensation

• $75,000–$95,000 a year, based on experience
