As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Patrol in Chicago, IL , this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you. Pay Rate: $25.18 / Hour Job Schedule: DayTimeMon07:00 AM - 06:00 PMFri07:30 AM - 06:00 PM How This Role Works: Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment. Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you. This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed. Responsibilities: Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and government facility stakeholders by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control protocols, and emergency response activities when appropriate. Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and public emergency services as directed by post orders. Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned interior and exterior areas, including building perimeters, parking areas, entrances, and restricted locations, to help deter unauthorized activity. Monitor access points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, maintain required logs, and report unusual activity, hazards, or policy violations according to site procedures. Maintain proficiency with assigned equipment and comply with applicable federal, state, local, and Allied Universal policies governing armed security-related duties. Minimum Requirements: Possess 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience, or a college degree. Possess a concealed carry weapons permit. Access control and badge experience is preferred. Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred. Alarm panel experience is preferred. Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law. Participate in industry-specific security training programs. Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment. A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
