Role Description The Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based at De La Salle High School in Concord, CA. This position is responsible for daily accounting operations, including maintaining general ledger entries, processing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank and credit card statements, and preparing journal entries. The Accountant assists with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, including periodic financial statements and year-end closing activities. The role supports tuition and fee billing, monitors payments, and collaborates with school leadership to ensure accurate financial records and adherence to internal controls. The Accountant also works with external auditors, supports compliance with applicable regulations and school policies, and provides timely financial data to inform decision-making. Qualifications Strong general accounting skills, including general ledger management, account reconciliation, and journal entry preparation. Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and billing processes, preferably in an educational or non-profit environment. Proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheets; ability to analyze financial data and prepare clear reports. Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, including month-end and year-end close procedures. Understanding of internal controls, financial compliance, and basic regulatory requirements relevant to schools or non-profit organizations. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced setting. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and administrators. Demonstrated integrity, discretion, and commitment to the mission and values of a Catholic, Lasallian school community. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification is a plus.
