Registered Nurse - Surgical Services

This is a full-time position requiring 4, 10-hour rotating shifts. The shift hours are from 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM.

The Registered Nurse in Surgical Services is a clinical practitioner responsible for coordinating and implementing patient care specific to the age of the patient population served on the assigned units. This role ensures that quality care is provided efficiently and safely, in alignment with the unit's standards of care. The nurse demonstrates performance consistent with the mission, philosophy, and goals of the unit and organization, while treating staff, physicians, patients, and families with respect and consideration.

Obtain initial assessments and establish priorities based on patient age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs.

Reassess patients systematically to identify progress and trends that require intervention.

Develop and implement measurable individualized plans of care within established timeframes.

Make comprehensive nursing decisions based on the interpretation of facts and evaluations of patient outcomes.

Participate in patient health education and discharge planning.

Implement and document timely interventions appropriate to patient needs.

Evaluate the effectiveness of the plan of care.

Perform various Point of Care testing procedures.

Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license.

Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications via AHA.

Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Nursing.

Knowledge and skills appropriate to the age/type of patient population served.

Communicates clearly and concisely, appropriate to the developmental age of the patient.
