APTM Yield Analysis/Device Engineer

Advanced Packaging Technology and Manufacturing (APTM) Yield Group is looking for a Yield Analysis Engineer to drive yield, device, and defect improvement across the APTM portfolio of packaging technologies. Responsibilities Extract insights from structured and unstructured data by quickly synthesizing large volumes of data, applying statistical methods and machine learning techniques. Develop solutions to problems leveraging formal education, manufacturing process knowledge, statistical expertise, and problem‑solving tools. Independently drive recommendations and influence the yield improvement roadmap. Understand the relationship between electrical and physical failures, including deep knowledge of FBI, DFT, Sort/Test, Integration/Process Flow, datamining, databases, data manipulation, and data visualization. Understand inline defect metrology, detection capabilities, and underlying defect systems in the factory. Create strong partnerships with Process Engineering, Integration, QNR, and Product & Test Development Engineering. Prepare detailed, clear, and timely reports summarizing yield and device health. Determine actions required to deliver best‑in‑class yield levels. Develop solutions using process, Sort/Test, and inline metrology knowledge, statistical knowledge, and problem‑solving skills. Collaborate with upstream, downstream, and cross‑functional key partners to ensure successful technology development, transfer, and ramp of new technology into HVM. Travel domestically and internationally as needed. Qualifications Minimum qualifications include: Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 4+ years, or PhD degree with 2+ years of relevant experience in Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or a closely related field. Relevant experience in data analysis using JMP, Python, or other data engineering and analytics tools. Preferred Qualifications In‑depth understanding and hands‑on application of statistical analysis. Proficiency in structured technical problem solving. Understanding of product design/circuit/architecture relevant for yield analysis. Understanding of inline metrology capabilities relevant for yield analysis. Benefits Annual salary range for this role in the U.S. is $164,470.00 – $232,190.00 USD. The role offers competitive pay, stock bonuses, and benefits including health, retirement, and vacation.
