Job Description:

The Clinical Nurse provides care for the Perioperative Patient using the nursing process, which includes assessment, formulation of nursing diagnoses, planning interventions, and evaluation of interventions per patient outcomes. The Operating Room clinical nurse is expected to circulate in all specialty areas including Orthopedics, ENT, GYN/OB, General, Ophthalmology, and Dental. Scrubbing experience is highly encouraged. The role may require working varied hours when on call and preparing for emergency cases on short notice.

Responsibilities:

• Provide perioperative care for patients.
• Circulate in all specialty areas as required.
• Work varied and odd hours when on call.
• Prepare for emergency cases on short notice.

Requirements:

• A valid, current, full and unrestricted Professional Nursing License from any state.
• BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association.
• PALS certification from the American Heart Association within six months of hire.
• NIH stroke scale must be completed within six months of hire.
• Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) by CCI within one year of hire.
• Trauma Nurse Core Courses (TNCC) within two years of hire.
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
• Two years of clinical nurse and/or operating room practical experience.
