Create video, photography, and related digital content for use across district communication platforms to highlight students, staff, campuses, programs, and district priorities. Collaborate with the Communications and Marketing team to execute established content strategies and ensure multimedia materials align with district messaging, branding, and communication goals. Qualifications Education and Certification Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (preferred) Preferably in film or video production, digital media, communications, journalism, or a related field Valid Texas driver’s license Experience Three (3) years of professional experience in videography, video production, or multimedia content creation Experience producing video content for digital and social media platforms, including vertical and short-form formats Experience in a public education setting (preferred) Demonstrated portfolio or reel of professional multimedia work Knowledge and Skills Comprehensive knowledge of video production concepts and workflows, including pre-production planning, filming, lighting, audio capture, editing, and post-production Advanced videography and video editing skills, including camera operation, composition, lighting, audio production, color correction, motion graphics, and captioning Proficient photography and photo-editing skills, including event, portrait, and candid photography Advanced ability to produce and adapt multimedia content across formats, lengths, aspect ratios, and digital platforms Working knowledge of social and digital video trends, audience engagement practices, and multimedia performance metrics Proficient skill in professional video, photography, and design software, including Adobe Creative Suite or comparable applications Working knowledge of web content management systems and digital publishing practices Proficient writing, storytelling, and copy-editing skills, including familiarity with Associated Press (AP) style Proficient organizational and project-management skills to manage multiple production requests, deadlines, digital assets, and equipment Ability to independently manage multimedia projects from concept through final delivery within established content strategy and direction Ability to work effectively with and provide direction to on-camera subjects, including students, staff, families, and community members Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and sound judgment, including student privacy and media release requirements Ability to demonstrate professionalism, ethical conduct, and accountability in all interactions and responsibilities Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (preferred) Key Responsibilities Multimedia Production and Storytelling Produce video content across a range of formats and lengths to highlight student achievement, staff excellence, academic programs, and district initiatives. Collaborate with the district videographer to align on project scope, style, and coverage, supporting longer-form productions as a second shooter or editor when needed and leading production of short-form and social-first content. Manage all phases of video production, including concept development, scripting, storyboarding, scheduling, filming, lighting, audio capture, editing, graphics, captioning, and final export and delivery. Film and edit a range of video content, including short-form vertical video, event recaps and sizzle reels, feature stories, promotional and recruitment videos, interviews, and instructional or informational videos. Deliver quick-turn video from events and campus visits, including same-day content when needed, while balancing longer projects on a production calendar. Proactively seek out and identify district and campus-based stories with strong visual storytelling potential and recommend production ideas to the Communications and Marketing team. Digital Content and Audience Engagement Create platform-native video content designed to drive engagement on the district’s digital channels, delivering finished assets to the Communications and Marketing team for scheduling and posting. Monitor trends in social and digital video and recommend formats, styles, and approaches that support effective district storytelling. Post finished video and photo content to district and campus web pages as requested, coordinating with the Web Content Coordinator on placement and site standards. Produce video and graphic content formatted for campus and district TVs and marquees as requested. Ensure all multimedia content is accessible and inclusive for diverse audiences, including accurate captioning, transcripts, and alternative text. Photography and Digital Asset Management Capture photography for district use at campus visits, ceremonies, athletics, fine arts performances, board meetings, and special events; edit, caption, and organize images within the district digital asset library. Maintain an organized digital asset library of raw footage, edited projects, photography, b-roll, and music and graphic assets, ensuring files are archived, searchable, and retrievable by the department. Collaboration and Production Coordination Coordinate production schedules with campuses and departments, communicating timelines, location needs, and deliverables to requestors. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align multimedia content with district messaging, branding, and visual identity standards. Provide occasional support for other departmental communications needs, including photography and video requests supporting publications, presentations, and e-newsletters. Compliance, Event Coverage, and Production Operations Verify media release and student privacy requirements are met before content featuring students is filmed, photographed, or published. Support live and recorded coverage of district events, including livestream setup and operation as needed. Serve as a member of the district’s crisis communications team, capturing and producing visual content to support timely and accurate dissemination of information during a crisis. Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot production equipment and software; recommend equipment purchases, upgrades, and replacements, and maintain the department equipment inventory.
