About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: NICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 19:00 - 07:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year level III experience License: RN License Certifications: BLS, NRP Must-Have: Experience with preemies (at least 28 weeks and above) Management of central lines Respiratory management up to and including intubated patients Description: This position involves caring for patients in a NICU setting with a bed capacity of 108. Patient ratios may range from 1:1 to 1:4. Staff includes RNs, LVNs, PCTs, and Nurse Externs. Equipment utilized includes nasal cannulas, bubble CPAP, ventilators, oscillators, IV pumps, NIRS, warmers, and isolettes. The documentation system used is CPN and Meditech. Scheduling requires 3 twelve-hour shifts per week, including rotating weekends and holidays. Contract staff may float to areas including PICU, Pediatrics, and CICU. The focus includes care for surgical and cardiac patients, as well as infants with tracheostomies. Advanced skills include performing central line insertions, circumcisions, exploratory laparotomies, gastroschisis reductions, and PDA ligations.
