Shop Service Technician 4

Job Title

Responsible for performing inspections, diagnoses, and repairs of diesel-powered heavy equipment and/or related equipment or components, following established procedures and guidelines. Work independently or as a member of a team to provide mechanical services that satisfy customer needs and achieve department goals. Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions and failures. Disassemble and assemble machine components to manufacturer's specifications through the use of hand tools, pneumatic tools, and any specialized tooling. Rebuild, repair, recondition, and maintain equipment and components. Demonstrate good customer relations and support; communicate customer needs to shop management. Plan and control cost of repair jobs. Complete parts orders and identify parts for return. Provide a significant amount of task and behavior-oriented mentoring, and training to others. Maintain all equipment and work areas - keep in good, clean, and orderly condition. Work safely at all times and adhere to all applicable safety policies; comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards. Work overtime as required by workload and customers' needs.
