Heat Treat Operator

Syndeo is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Heat Treater to join a local aircraft component manufacturing company.

This position is responsible for operating heat-treating equipment and processing metal parts according to established specifications, work instructions, and quality requirements.

The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-conscious, comfortable working in a manufacturing environment, and able to accurately follow process specifications and maintain required documentation.

This is a direct-hire opportunity and has a competitive compensation package and excellent benefits.

Schedule - this is a 2nd shift position Monday - Friday 3:30pm to 12:00am. You will train on 1st shift 7:00 am - 3:30 pm.

Responsibilities

• Set up, load, operate, monitor, and unload heat-treating furnaces and related equipment.
• Process metal parts according to specified temperatures, cycle times, cooling methods, and work instructions.
• Read and follow work orders, routers, process specifications, and production documentation.
• Monitor furnace temperatures, timers, controls, and operating conditions throughout heat-treatment cycles.
• Properly identify, handle, and maintain traceability of parts throughout the heat-treatment process.
• Record temperatures, cycle information, lot information, and other required production data accurately.
• Inspect parts for obvious defects or conditions that may affect quality.
• Use measuring equipment as required by the job.
• Maintain an organized and clean work area.
• Perform routine equipment checks and report maintenance or process issues promptly.
• Follow all safety procedures, including requirements for handling hot materials and operating industrial equipment.
• Work closely with Quality, Production, and other team members to ensure parts are processed according to established requirements.
• Assist with other manufacturing duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous heat-treating, furnace operation, metalworking, machining, or manufacturing experience preferred.
• Understanding of heat-treatment processes and metal properties is preferred.
• Ability to read and understand work instructions, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
• Ability to accurately complete production records.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic process or equipment issues.
• Ability to work independently while following established procedures.
• Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to safely lift and move materials as required by the position.
• Willingness to work around heat, industrial equipment, and typical manufacturing conditions.
