Accuracy and fabrication are very important as most of the work involves modifications including such items as preparing for locksets, hinges, glass kits, access control devices and other such products.Essential functions:MIG welding of hollow metal frame material and commercial hardwareAssembly of hollow metal frame material and commercial hardwareFrequent work saw cutting, grinding and sanding related materialsMinimum qualifications:Experience using welders (MIG preferred)Demonstrated basic knowledge of welding principlesMust pass pre-employment background check and drug testKnowledge, skills and abilities:Knowledge of woodworking tools for use on wood doors desiredBasic construction knowledge with specific experience related to hollow metal and commercial hardware applications strongly preferredStrong troubleshooting and problem solving skillsGood communication skills requiredAbility to work independently, efficiently and meet deadlinesPhysical demands: This position requires physical activity consistent with a construction or installation environment. The employee will spend more than two-thirds of their time standing, kneeling, crouching, stooping, using hands to handle or feel, and reaching with hands and arms. Approximately one-third of the time may be spent walking and engaging in verbal communication or listening. Frequent lifting and moving of materials weighing between 25 and 50 pounds is required.Work environment: This role may involve travel to project sites and exposure to a variety of environmental conditions. These may include outdoor weather, proximity to forklifts or other heavy machinery, and the use of hand tools or hardware.
