National Board Certification $3,000 annually New Hire Education Credit: $80 per hour of graduate level credits; BA +96 hours max, MA +96 hours max; $1,250 for first advanced degree; $500 for each additional advanced degree Classification Title: CTE Teacher: Network Security/Cybersecurity Hours Per Day: 3.2 Qualifications Valid State of Arizona CTE Teaching Certificate – Career and Technical Education Industrial and Emerging Technologies, or Specialized Career and Technical Education Industrial and Emerging Technologies Valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card Broad knowledge of computer science hardware and software applications Information Technology Specialist – Java preferred Experience with Career and Technical Education desired Knowledge of instructional practices that support student-centered learning Duties and Responsibilities Demonstrate expertise in the field of Software & App Design (Computer Science) Oversee a Career and Technical Student Organization (FBLA or SkillsUSA) Develop and work with advisory committees and stakeholders Participate in recruitment needs for program Plan and implement a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of students within the district curriculum Use effective teaching techniques and materials to implement established curriculum goals and objectives Create a weekly written lesson plan describing daily learning experiences – this weekly lesson plan is correlated with the aims and/or objectives in the curriculum guide and/or course outline Monitor and assess student progress to provide feedback to students and their parents Diagnose, instruct, and evaluate specific student needs and seek assistance of district specialists as required Communicate aims and/or objectives to students in a well-planned, organized manner using clear and precise language Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students Assist administration in implementing all policies and rules governing the development of proper student behavior Develop and implement reasonable classroom rules of behavior and procedure in a fair and just manner Create educational experiences that provide each student the opportunity to develop his/her potential in the areas of personal-social adjustment, decision-making, positive self-image and other life skills Promote and follow the adopted school district philosophy, policies, regulations and administrative procedures Communicate concerns and ideas with colleagues, students, parents and community in a positive, professional and ethical manner Assume legal responsibility for the supervision of students on school property or in attendance at school-sponsored activities Strive to maintain and improve professional competence Assume individual responsibilities which may be assigned by the principal/supervisor and which may relate to committee work, student activities, student supervision or other planning and professional assignments Maintain accurate, complete, legible and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation Takes necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities Participate in department and school meetings Participate in District and school initiatives Meet any additional specific job requirements as indicated by the District or school site Core Values / Professional Qualities Promote positive interactions with colleagues Promote positive interactions with students and parents Be responsible, reliable and punctual Be flexible and adaptable to change Positively accept direction Direct constructive criticism toward improving the district Exercise positive problem solving behavior and conflict resolution skills Adhere to the dress code appropriate to the site and job Share sensitive student and staff information on a need-to-know basis Be a positive role model for students Adhere to district and school rules and procedures Physical Requirements Positions in this classification typically require stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, walking, pushing, reaching, lifting, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
