IT Security Specialist

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Big Data Developer/Engineer for an onsite position with a Global Financial Institution located in Chicago, IL or Denver, CO. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

In this role, you will join a tight-knit, supportive team passionate about delivering the best experience for customers. The ideal candidate will leverage big data technologies to design and build near-real-time and batch data pipelines in a complex enterprise environment.

Responsibilities:

• Design and build end-to-end Near-Real Time and Batch Data Pipelines
• Perform data ingestion from various sources including message queues, file shares, REST APIs, and relational databases
• Develop, manage, and performance-tune Spark, MapReduce, and SQL jobs
• Utilize source code and version control systems like Git and Bit Bucket
• Work within an Agile development process through all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle

Requirements:

• Strong SQL Skills with one or more of MySQL, HIVE, Impala, or SPARK SQL
• Experience with data formats like json, csv, and xml
• Experience working with SPARK Structured Streaming
• Experience working with Hadoop/Big Data and Distributed Systems
• Working experience with Spark, Sqoop, Kafka, MapReduce, and NoSQL Databases like HBase or SOLR
• Experience with CDP, HDP, Cloudera, or Hortonworks
• Knowledge of Elastic Search and Kibana
• Hands-on programming experience in at least one of the following: Scala, Python, PHP, or Shell Scripting
• Experience and proficiency with the Linux operating system
• Experience using Jenkins for CI/CD and jar management
• Self-starter who works with minimal supervision and the ability to work in a team of diverse skill sets
• Strong analytical mind to take on complicated problems

Pay range: $70.25 - $78.25 per hour
