General Manager

TRUTH BBQ, a fast growing craft BBQ concept out of Houston, Texas is looking for a senior level GM to lead operations and growth alongside a young, enthusiastic team of senior leaders in finance, marketing, training and catering.

The General Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the flagship location, ensuring exceptional customer service, managing staff performance, controlling costs, and driving profitability. The GM leads the team to maintain high standards of food quality, cleanliness, and operational efficiency while creating a positive dining experience for guests. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with a proven track record in the following areas:

Operations:

• Oversee daily restaurant operations and ensure smooth service
• Maintain compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations
• Monitor food quality, presentation, and customer satisfaction
• Ensure restaurant cleanliness and organization standards are met
• Manage opening and closing procedures

People:

• Recruit, hire, train, and supervise restaurant employees
• Create employee schedules and manage labor costs
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching
• Foster a positive and productive work environment
• Resolve employee conflicts and disciplinary issues

Hospitality:

• Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback professionally
• Ensure guests receive excellent service and hospitality
• Build customer relationships and encourage repeat business
• Monitor online reviews and customer satisfaction trends

Finance:

• Manage budgets, sales targets, and profitability goals
• Control food, beverage, and labor costs
• Analyze financial reports and operational metrics
• Oversee inventory management and ordering
• Implement strategies to increase revenue and reduce waste

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred
• 7-10 years of restaurant management experience
• Expert knowledge in purchasing and protein management, COGS
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities
• Knowledge of restaurant POS systems and inventory management
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
