Radiologic Technologist - St. Mary's - PRN

Job Overview This position assesses patients and performs routine radiographic procedures following safety protocols. The role also serves as a clinical mentor to junior staff and students. Key Responsibilities Verify physician orders and procedures for accuracy. Utilize radiology information systems to facilitate patient care. Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding. Operate imaging equipment independently, including placement of nasogastric tubes, IVs, urinary catheters, and administration of contrast. Review patient images before transmission to ensure diagnostic quality. Complete quality control procedures per regulatory standards and address issues as needed. Assist with departmental operations: inventory, staff scheduling, equipment maintenance, etc. Adapt behavior to the patient population, respecting privacy and communication style. Perform related duties as required. Qualifications Education: Completion of a Radiologic Technology program at an AMA-approved school. Work Experience: None required. Certifications: Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT); current state license; Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Computer skills for data entry and information retrieval. Effective verbal and written communication; ability to present information clearly. Proficiency with Windows-based applications and role-specific software. Strong interpersonal skills. Physical and Environmental Demands The role requires occasional exertion of 50-100 lbs, frequent exertion of 25-50 lbs, or constant exertion of 10-20 lbs to move objects. The job is considered light work based on walking or standing requirements. Mechanical lifting devices or team lifts should be used. Flexible work schedule, including 24/7 shifts, weekends, holidays, on-call availability. Travel between facilities required. Tasks require stooping, bending, reaching, grabbing, manual dexterity, prolonged sitting and standing. Exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissues; occupational risk for communicable diseases; exposure to hazardous medications or waste during procedures.
