Essential Functions

Review credits to determine if a refund is due to insurance.
Review credits to determine if a refund is due to the patient.
Understand how to read an Explanation of Benefits (EOB).
Understand allowables.
Work line items and apply credits and debits appropriately.
Follow all company policies and procedures, including HIPAA regulations.
Communicate trends or issues with payers.
Assist with other areas of receipts processing as needed.

Qualifications

Two (2) years of payment refunds experience, with collections, billing, and/or registration experience in a healthcare or insurance setting being a plus, OR any combination of equivalent education and experience. Typing skills with a minimum of 35 wpm and good communication skills are required.
