Food Runner

This position delivers consistent high-quality service and professionalism to ensure a fine dining experience. A Food Runner interacts with restaurant guests, employees, and management in a polite and hospitable manner while delivering all food to the dining room and acting as the liaison between Front of House (FOH) staff and the kitchen. The Food Runner must be responsive to guests' needs and appreciate the importance of timing of service.

Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Report by scheduled time to a station assigned by a manager on duty.
• Prepare the assigned station based on Quality Branded Standard Operating Procedure and additional guidelines.
• Deliver food service to tables within the restaurant between the kitchen and dining room, as determined by management.
• Interact with guests in a friendly, efficient and professional manner and respond to all food related questions from guests.
• Maintain complete knowledge of the Quality Branded Restaurant's food and beverage preparation, menus, cocktails, and wines, including all allergy and food accommodation lists.
• Memorize menu allergy chart/matrix and communicate the information to guests with food allergies.
• Effectively communicate guest needs with the kitchen and Servers, which includes, but is not limited to, special needs, allergies, and re-fires.
• Perform assigned side-work and ensure the total cleanliness and smooth operation of the Food Runner station, before, during and at the conclusion of each shift.
• Assist with pulling plates from line and arranging on trays or gueridons for service as applicable.
• Maintain strict health and hygiene standards in the kitchen in adhere to all state health department guidelines.
• Follow Center for Disease Control sanitation guidelines.
• Comply with QB uniform and hygiene policies.
• Perform other duties as directed by management.

Position Requirements:

• Available to work various shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.
• 100% -- Walks and stands during entire shift.
• 100% -- Continuously reach, bend, lift, carry trays, push carts, stoop and wipe.
• Must be able to frequently seize, grasp, and hold objects with hands.
• Must be able to lift to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to push and pull an object of up to 100 pounds (if carts apply).

Knowledge and Skills:

• Possess excellent communication skills with management, servers, team members and guests.
• Must be able to clearly and accurately communicate with guests and co-workers in English (including reading, writing, and speaking).
• Excellent time management and organizational skills and be able to multi-task.
• Must be a team player.
• Possess knowledge and training to respond and address the allergy and dietary needs and restrictions of guests.
• Knowledge of workplace safety procedures and sanitation skills according to Department of Health standards for hygiene and safe food handling.
• Knowledge of sanitation protocols issued by Center for Disease Control.
