Medical Surgical Registered Nurse - Oncology Experience Preferred

This is a 13-week contract position.

Night shift: 4x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00) with weekdays and every other weekend coverage.

We are seeking a skilled Medical Surgical Registered Nurse with oncology experience to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will provide high-quality nursing care to patients in an inpatient oncology unit, focusing on both medical and surgical needs. You will be responsible for administering chemotherapy and managing patient care in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities:

• Administer chemotherapy and manage patient responses.
• Monitor vital signs and patient condition during treatment.
• Educate patients and families about treatment protocols and side effects.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Utilize Cerner EMR for charting and documentation.
• Manage IV access and perform necessary nursing procedures.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience; 2 years preferred.
• Current Registered Nurse license in WV or Compact state.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS; ONS chemotherapy/biosafety certificate preferred.
• Experience with Cerner EMR is preferred.
• Strong clinical skills in managing IVs and administering chemotherapy.
