Voclarion is a company founded in 2003 with the goal of developing and delivering an innovative and open communication platform (VOIP). They continue to innovate and develop, with a beautiful and growing customer list as their reward. To further build this beautiful position, they are constantly looking for new employees, including this new opportunity.

At Voclarion, you will start as a medior developer. Together with our team, you will be responsible for continuously improving our VoIP communication solution.

In the coming years, they plan to invest in new innovative improvements to their VoIP communication platform. They aim to make their back-end more compatible with new software versions and replace it with the latest techniques.

They have completely rebuilt their GUI, which was based on PHP, in VueJS (front-end) and Django (back-end). They work with CentOS as the operating system. You could, for example, focus on improving the security of our platform or rebuilding or adapting new innovative functionalities.

If you want to work for Voclarion, you should find it a challenge to dive deep into the subject matter with full freedom to tackle it independently in your own way. Is this something for you?

You will work in a team of about three developers in the Netherlands, supported by a team of hardcore developers from a sister company, from both Italy and the Czech Republic. The language of communication here is fully English, so you must be very proficient in it.

They use Gitea as a version control system and Gerrit Review for code review. They use Ansible for deployment, work with Docker, and more. You don’t need to master all of it; you just need to feel inspired by it. You should also like writing reproducible and accountable code, and you should be open to learning from others.

They use their Odoo ERP system and JIRA to work structured and 100% task-based. They mostly work in Kanban and in some projects in Scrum. Not too much at once, not too much in between, with a focus on getting the job done.

Every two weeks, they have a stand-up where you have the opportunity to share your knowledge and experiences in detail. They also discuss the progress of tasks and the approach to tasks that are falling behind. This already shows that you will have a lot of freedom and you should like independent work. There is always an opportunity for consultation with your colleagues; they use Mattermost, a Slack equivalent, for this purpose.

What you are strong in:

• You have HBO or WO level education
• You have at least 2 years of experience with PHP code and are familiar with Python or similar languages
• You have a lot of database experience, especially with Postgresql
• You can get along very well with Linux (CL) our software runs on CentOS
• You are very proficient in the English language
