Position Information Position Title Payroll Clerk Requisition Number H00383P Position Category Hourly/Work Study Campus Location Weber State University - Ogden, UT Hours per week 20 Months per year 12 Alternate work schedule Pay Grade Salary Hourly Pay Rate $ 14 FLSA Job Summary/Basic Function This position supports the overall payroll process as well as specific payroll related functions. Job Responsibilities Could Include greeting customers/employees, answering telephone call, directing those calls to the appropriate office or department, monitoring incomplete paperwork and communicating with departments about various steps or requirements throughout the process. The clerk in this position will also input data that results in employee pay. Payroll process are reviewed for accuracy and all input is verified. The payroll office relies on electronic processes used by campus departments to initiate pay requests. The clerk in this position must be able to learn and navigate those systems. This position also offers guidance to system users. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Preferred Qualifications Proficiency using computer applications including Microsoft Office, including Excel, and email. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. The ability to accurately perform under the pressure of payroll deadlines. The clerk in this position must be able to multi task, and effectively complete tasks with interruption throughout the entry process. The clerk in this position must be able to analyze and review data entry for errors. In addition to the technical requirements of the job, the clerk must be able to professionally and effectively interact with a very diverse employee population including faculty, staff, and student employees. Ability to become proficient with Banner Knowledge of basic accounting theory. Experience working with a diverse population. Experience in a professional office environment. Background Check? Yes Due to the Affordable Care Act (ACA), individuals who have worked in a salaried capacity for Weber State University are ineligible to be hired as an hourly or adjunct employee at Weber State for six months.
