Surgical Technologist

Schedule Details Full Time, Various Hours Per Week 40 hours Pay Range $25.30 - $37.95 per hour Education and Experience Graduation from a Surgical Technology program or from an accredited school of Nursing. Licensure and Certification Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required. Certification in specialty area preferred. Essential Functions Ensures quality patient care, safety, and advocacy through critical thinking, anticipation and management of case specific needs, under direct supervision of the RN. Ensures complete, accurate and timely care, cleanliness and management of instruments, equipment and supplies. Communicates to the team, co‑workers and patients in an effective, positive and professional manner. Takes personal responsibility and initiative for performance, professional growth and development. Demonstrates cost containment activities of instruments and inventory. Skills and Qualifications Functions effectively under stressful and difficult situations, resilient and flexible in a changing environment, systems for patient safety, technology/informatics skills, practice innovation. Work Environment Possible exposure to infections and contagious diseases, hazardous anesthetic agents, body fluids and wastes; possible exposure to toxic chemicals and radiation; handles emergency or crisis situations; subject to many interruptions; highly stressful and crowded, noisy conditions. Physical Requirements Standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching with arms, finger and hand dexterity, talking, hearing, seeing. Lifting: up to 20 lbs. maximum, 50 lbs. maximum, 100 lbs. maximum.
