Collections Specialist - Healthcare

The Collections Specialist under the director of the Collections Manager will process customer refunds, review account alterations, resolve client inconsistencies, and collect overdue payments. The Collections Specialist will need to have the ability to balance between maintaining trustful relationships and guaranteeing timely payments, possess outstanding communication and negotiation skills, as well as an in-depth knowledge of laws and policies related to debt collection. Responsibilities Supervise assigned accounts to identify unresolved claims Develop effective repayment plans Follow-up with clients on overdue accounts Research and resolve insurance denials File appeals on denied or underpaid claims Check claim status on appropriate payor systems and contact insurances as needed Send Medical Records and other documentation to payors as requested Follow up with patients and payers for payments Review of Accounts Receivable Aging reports Meet daily, monthly and quarterly billing metrics Perform all administrative duties related to ensuring office efficiency Qualifications 1-3 years of experience in collections Proficient in Microsoft Office High school diploma required; secondary education preferred Billing or coding experience Highly skilled in negotiation Outstanding written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills Knowledge of Commercial Insurance and Government Payor guidelines Understanding of insurance benefits and reimbursement Good Administrative skills Proficient in medical terminology, HIPAA and other critical governmental regulations Must meet pre-employment and maintain all applicable state, national, and job-related guidelines for reference checking, background screening,10 panel urine drug screening, Health screening, DMV (if applicable), insurance (if applicable), and license/credential verifications Benefits Competitive salary Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision and 401(K) Generous paid time off accrual Excellent growth and development opportunities Satisfying and rewarding work striving to overcome the opioid epidemic Here Is What You Can Expect From Us BayMark Health Services is committed to helping people achieve lasting sobriety through comprehensive care and compassionate support.
