Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Pediatric PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: ASAP Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, rotating Employment Type: Travel Pediatric Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Pediatric Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This role involves caring for pediatric patients requiring rehabilitation and stepdown support. The position is designed for individuals with a strong background in pediatric nursing and experience in trach and ventilator management. Key Responsibilities Provide nursing care for pediatric and adolescent patients, including those with complex medical conditions. Manage ventilator and tracheostomy care for patients as needed. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans. Monitor and assess patient conditions, documenting changes and communicating effectively with healthcare teams. Assist with rehabilitation efforts, focusing on physical, speech, and occupational therapy needs. Adhere to established protocols and safety guidelines to ensure high-quality patient care. Participate in patient and family education regarding care plans and rehabilitation strategies. Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice. Minimum of 2 years of experience in pediatric nursing; experience in rehabilitation preferred. Proven skills in tracheostomy and ventilator management. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Ability to work in a mixed patient care environment with varying needs. Must be available to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays as scheduled. Preferred experience with conditions such as TBI, spinal cord injury, GSW, MVA, burns, feeding disorders, and failure to thrive. Work Schedule This role requires a commitment to a rotating shift schedule, including 3x12 hour shifts (Days/Nights), with every other weekend and holidays as assigned. Additional Information Floating to other departments may be required based on patient care needs. Scrubs of any color or pattern are acceptable for the role.
