Job Description

The Cardiac Invasive Procedure Assistant will assist the cardiologist in performing various invasive cardiac procedures, including right heart monitoring, myoendocardial biopsies, left heart catheterizations, and other interventional procedures. This role involves careful monitoring and documentation of patient data before, during, and after procedures.

Responsibilities

• Enter patient information into the Cath Lab computer system and monitor patients throughout the procedure.
• Document all parts of the procedure in the Cath Lab hemodynamic system.
• Communicate vital patient information, including blood pressure and heart rhythms, to the physician.
• Operate equipment necessary for procedures, such as fluoroscopy equipment, film processors, and monitoring devices.
• Complete all paperwork with accuracy and in a timely manner.
• Prepare trays and rooms for procedures and assist in patient preparation.
• Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to cardiac care.
• Collect information for research patients and communicate effectively with all healthcare team members.
• Aid in transporting patients to and from the Cath Lab to ensure timely operations.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

Completion of an accredited technical program is required, with an Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Science preferred. A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is required.
