Position Summary:

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing and optimizing the flow of materials, equipment, and information across port operations. This role serves as a key link between internal teams, customers, and vendors to ensure efficient scheduling, accurate documentation, and seamless coordination of marine and land-based logistics activities. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, industrial or port environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Coordinate vessel, truck, and barge schedules to support the timely movement of cargo and materials.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for internal teams, customers, and vendors.
• Plan, track, and manage logistics activities to ensure on-time delivery and alignment with project timelines and budgets.
• Partner with operations and dispatch teams to optimize loading, storage, and transportation processes.
• Maintain accurate shipment tracking and update internal systems and documentation.
• Communicate schedules, updates, and changes to relevant stakeholders.
• Resolve delivery delays, discrepancies, and damage claims in coordination with vendors and carriers.
• Ensure compliance with applicable port regulations, safety standards, and environmental requirements.
• Support reporting, cost analysis, and process improvement initiatives within logistics operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in logistics coordination, dispatching, or a related role.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and familiarity with logistics or dispatch systems.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Flexibility to work outside standard business hours as operations require.

Preferred Experience:

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Experience in marine operations, transportation, or industrial logistics environments.
• Familiarity with port operations, stevedoring, or bulk material handling.
• Experience coordinating with third-party vendors, carriers, and equipment providers.
• Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and maritime safety regulations.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work in both office and field environments.
• Ability to walk, stand, and navigate port, dock, and industrial areas.
• Ability to lift and carry items up to 25 pounds.

  Required use of PPE (hard hat, safety vest, steel‑toe boots) in operational areas.

Work Environment:

• Combination of office-based work and field operations at marine terminals.
• Frequent interaction with vessel crews, dispatchers, drivers, and third-party vendors.
• Exposure to industrial and waterfront environments, including noise, dust, and varying weather conditions.
• Collaborative, team-oriented environment requiring coordination across multiple departments.
