Reports to a Laboratory Supervisor. Responsibilities include receipt, accessioning, centrifugation and decanting of patient specimens, and communicating with clinicians at the Front Window and over the phone.Essential FunctionsAccurately enters information from requisition (including patient name, unit number, requesting area, time sample drawn, physician's name, tubes received, tests requested, general comments) into computer.Transfers samples from racks to the centrifuges and to decant station.Processes ADDs: locates sample, adds tests to original accession, completes ADDs form.Acts as resource to CLA I and CLA II staff.Handles special specimens (e.g. Sendouts).QualificationsEducation High School Diploma or Equivalent required Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree?
