Description Lake Butler Hospital is a critical access hospital in North Florida providing 24-hour emergency services, inpatient hospitalization, swing bed program, rehabilitation services, outpatient laboratory, and outpatient radiology (X-ray, ultrasound, and CT Scan) services to Union County and the surrounding counties. We are looking for a knowledgeable and experienced Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team as a PRN employee! This position will provide coverage on weekends as needed. Sign-On Bonus available!! Job Summary Promotes and maintains health by providing physical therapy services under the supervision of a physical therapist. Treats disabilities, injuries, and diseases as part of a patients rehabilitation program, according to the prescription of a physician, plan of care determined by a Physical Therapist, and with the various modalities and skills of the profession, in order to help improve patient mobility, function and strength. This is a PRN position. Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for carrying out treatment in accordance with the physician's prescription, and as planned/ documented by a supervising Physical Therapist. Assists patients in preparing for therapy and return trips. Assist with removing and putting on braces or supportive equipment, prosthesis or crutches. Responsible for observing all hospital rules relative to the care and treatment of patients. Coordinates physical therapy plans, goals, and objectives with the department and other staff members of the health care team. Contributes to physical therapist's effectiveness by identifying patient care issues; providing information and commentary; recommending options and courses of action; implementing physical therapy directives. Assesses patient health by interviewing patients; performing physical examinations; obtaining, updating, and studying therapy histories. Assesses abnormal conditions by reviewing physical therapist's interpretations of patient evaluations and test results. Requirements Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Physical Therapy Assistant program. Must be a fully Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant with the State of Florida with 1 year experience in hospital setting.
