Purpose: Responsible for performing specialized cable splicing work for ITG's construction operations, ensuring high-quality connections in both coaxial and fiber optic networks that meet industry standards and client specifications. This role is critical for maintaining network integrity and service quality in telecom infrastructure projects. This position will require some traveling Responsibilities Perform skilled splicing for coaxial and/ or fiber optic cables according to industry standards and client specifications. Supervise subcontractor splice crews when required by management including verifying quality, as built documentation, test results, providing guidance on troubleshooting Test connections using specialized equipment to ensure signal quality and network integrity. Interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and work orders to complete splicing projects accurately. Maintain precise documentation of completed work including splice locations, tests performed, and quality results. Identify and resolve issues that may affect cable integrity or signal quality. Follow safety protocols and proper procedures for underground and aerial work environments. Maintain splicing equipment and tools in proper working condition. Collaborate with construction crews and supervisors to ensure project completion. Complete splicing work within specified timeframes to support project schedules. Stay current with evolving splicing techniques and technologies through ongoing training. Key Measures / Key Performance Indicators: Splice quality metrics and test results Work completion rates Safety compliance record First Time Right rates Equipment maintenance and care Documentation accuracy and completeness Project timeline adherence Technical skills assessment results Training completion metrics Requirements Education: High school diploma or equivalent required Technical certification in telecommunications, electronics, or related field preferred Specialized training in cable splicing techniques highly beneficial Experience: 3+ years of experience in telecommunications Fiber splicing Supervisory experience preferred Must have experience working with high count fiber Must have experience splicing single and ribbon fiber Background in telecommunications construction beneficial Exposure : Knowledge of telecommunications industry standards and specifications Understanding of cable network architecture and signal transmission Experience with splicing equipment and testing tools Familiarity with safety protocols for construction environments Factors critical to success at ITG Communications for this position : Technical aptitude with exceptional attention to detail Commitment to quality and reliability in all work performed Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a construction team Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and sit Ability to use hands to handle or feet Ability to reach with hands and arms Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend and crawl Ability to lift up to 75 lbs Ability to maintain all safety expectations Ability to operate equipment controls for extended periods Ability to work in various weather conditions and terrain types Please note: This is a safety-sensitive position.
