Professional Staff Nurse - Rotating Shift

The Professional Staff Nurse is a Registered Nurse and a vital member of the care delivery team. This role is responsible for setting the standards for the level and quality of care provided to patients. The Professional Staff Nurse has the authority and accountability for managing patient care activities through independent judgment, effective communication, and collaboration with healthcare team members.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in quality improvement efforts within the department or unit.
• Utilize research and evidence-based practice to enhance clinical care and influence patient care plans.
• Apply the nursing process within the framework of Relationship Based Care to develop individualized patient plans.
• Demonstrate solid communication skills, articulating patient conditions to the care team and recommending changes as needed.
• Foster collaborative relationships with patients, families, and other healthcare providers to achieve desired outcomes.
• Engage in teaching and guiding patients and families through their care experience.
• Develop and maintain productive working relationships with colleagues and demonstrate cultural competency.
• Contribute to a caring and compassionate patient-focused experience by building healing relationships.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Registered Nurse (RN) license required; BSN preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Compliance with PA Act 31, 33, 34, and 73.

Schedule

This position operates on a rotating shift schedule, requiring 12-hour shifts three days per week.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
