Position Summary Bogus Basin Ski Recreation Association is seeking Traffic Control/Parking Lot Attendants to manage parking operations and direct traffic flow on Bogus Basin Road and in resort parking areas during peak ski season. This role is critical to guest safety and a smooth arrival/departure experience, especially during high-volume weekends, holidays, and storm conditions. Key Responsibilities Parking Lot Attendant Duties Direct vehicles into available parking spaces and manage lot capacity throughout the day Monitor and manage overflow parking during peak periods Maintain clean, organized, and safe parking areas, including clearing debris and reporting maintenance needs Assist guests with parking questions, directions to the base area, and general guest service Monitor parking areas for unauthorized or improperly parked vehicles Assist stranded or stuck vehicles, or direct them to appropriate assistance Traffic Control Duties Direct vehicle traffic using stop/slow paddles, hand signals, and flags in accordance with established traffic control procedures Maintain clear, safe traffic flow on the access road, particularly during single-lane or reduced-capacity conditions (plowing, accidents, congestion) Monitor road conditions and communicate hazards (ice, snowpack, visibility) to supervisors and guests General Duties Communicate via radio with dispatch, parking staff, and other attendants to coordinate traffic and parking patterns Respond calmly and professionally to frustrated or confused guests Report incidents, near-misses, or safety concerns to management promptly Maintain visibility and safety equipment (vests, signage, cones, lighting) in good working order Schedule Part-time, seasonal (winter) Weekends, holidays, and peak periods required; some weekday shifts available Shifts typically run during resort operating hours, with early-morning arrival for opening Outdoor work in winter weather conditions for extended periods Requirements Must be 25 years or older Must hold current ATSSA Flagger Certification or equivalent certification Comfortable standing outdoors in cold, snowy, and low-visibility conditions for full shifts Strong communication skills and calm demeanor under pressure Ability to stand, walk, and remain alert for the duration of shifts (up to 8+ hours) Prior flagging, parking, or customer service experience preferred but not required Valid driver's license preferred Physical Requirements Ability to work outdoors in extreme cold, snow, wind, and variable light conditions Ability to stand and walk on uneven, icy, or snow-covered terrain Ability to lift/move traffic cones, signage, and equipment (up to 25 lbs) Compensation & Perks Competitive hourly wage Season ski pass and employee discounts Employee meal and gear discounts Training Paid on-site parking operations orientation provided prior to season start Flagger certification must be obtained prior to start date Equal Employment Opportunity Bogus Basin provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
