Description Become a part of something IMPACT-ful! Ground Missile Defense (GMD) is the heart of the Missile Defense System and a key element of our nation’s defense against ballistic missile attacks. The GMD Weapon System (GWS) processes data from multiple sensors to identify and characterize the inbound ballistic missile threat, plans the best defensive solution, and launches the intercepting missiles to negate the threat. The Work The selected Systems Engineer responsibilities will include the support of the Ground Weapons System (GWS) program as an individual contributor on the A&D Requirements team. This role is responsible for developing Systems Engineering products that directly support the design and development of the GWS capability on behalf of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years related engineering experience Experience using DOORS Recent experience authoring requirements and developing verification strategies Active Final Secret Clearance is required Desired Skills Test/Verification exposure/understanding Must be capable of working both independently and within a team environment. Individual must possess good communication skills. Candidate must demonstrate ability to think critically and capture concepts in work products, presentations, and discussions. Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% of the time. Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
