MECHANICAL ENGINEER

RESPONSIBILITIES:


Mechanical Design Engineers are responsible for designing / selecting mechanical and pneumatic components for custom material handling equipment and material handling system peripheral devices. May oversee equipment fabrication and may be called on for on-site technical assistance during installation and equipment launch. Design drawing sets, as-built documentation and written maintenance requirements for the devices are also critical responsibilities of this position.


REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:


3 + years of experience specifically designing conveyor and automated material handling equipment


Previous experience in Distribution is required


Must be highly proficient drawing with AutoCAD and/or SOLIDWORKS brand software


The ability to quickly concept cost effective solutions to a customer's requirements is paramount


Excellent communication and comprehension skills are a MUST


Must be well organized and have a keen sense of urgency


Able to prioritize several concurrent projects in order to meet project schedule milestones


Candidate will be a great team player willing to consider all possible solutions and multiple inputs before finalizing a design


Must be familiar with vendor purchasing procedures and tracking project budgets


Will assist in estimating equipment costs during the project quoting phase


Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel software
