Swiss Application Engineer

The Swiss Application Engineer will be expected to review customer parts and drawings, select equipment, and develop the cutting tool package as well as specify collets, guide bushings, tooling, holders and coolant flow. Scope and Responsibilities Proactively attains a safe and healthy work environment for all employees Managing turnkey projects, demonstrations, and other customer related projects to ensure they are completed on time and within budget Conducting pre‑sale activities and reviews including customer visits, evaluation of opportunities, machine assessment and recommendations, part processing recommendations and development of turnkey proposals Making accurate cost estimates, writing engineering reports and proposals, interpreting plans and specifications Developing/implementing custom demonstrations and training customers in the safe set up and operation of CNC machining centers, turning centers, Swiss style and/or multi‑tasking machines Possessing and maintaining an in‑depth knowledge of machine tool industry and product lines represented by the company Education / Certification Associate’s degree in a related technical field plus two years of experience in a machine tool related field, or five to seven years’ experience in a related position. Bachelor’s degree in related field is preferred. Skills 2‑5 years of work experience on the operation and setup of Swiss CNC machine tools. Must be personable and customer/sales oriented. Must have an open mind and attitude to listen and reassure, ultimately helping a customer. Must have strong communication and verbal skills, including ability to write clear and concise reports with recommended action plans. Must be capable of thinking through a problem and resolving it independently. Must be mechanically inclined, hands‑on, and enjoy working on machinery/equipment. Willing to travel, keep a flexible schedule, and adapt as projects or priorities change. Experience with CAD/CAM and EIA/ISO (G‑code) programming skills (e.g., Mastercam, Esprit, Fusion 360, PartMaker). Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically strong in Excel. Knowledge of metal cutting tooling and material grades. Will require practical part processing knowledge and Swiss machine tool experience.
