About the Role
Gastrohealth & Nutrition Clinics with Vivacity LEAP Wellness, provides comprehensive gastrointestinal, metabolic, bariatric, and wellness care throughout the Greater Houston area.
Our multidisciplinary team includes board-certified gastroenterologists, registered dietitians, nurses, health coaches, and healthcare professionals provide coordinated, patient-centered care. Our wellness programs combine advanced diagnostics and medical therapies with nutrition, lifestyle medicine, and integrative approaches to help patients achieve meaningful and sustainable improvements in their health.
We are seeking a full-time Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) to become an integral member of our clinical and wellness teams.
The RDN will provide medical nutrition therapy & counseling, program development, patient education, and longitudinal care for patients with gastrointestinal, hepatic, metabolic, bariatric, and cardiometabolic conditions.
The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to train and participate in the integrative and functional medicine programs offered through Vivacity LEAP Wellness.
Our services include metabolic and weight-management programs, functional laboratory testing, hormone optimization, peptide and regenerative therapies, IV nutrient infusions, body-composition assessment, and lifestyle optimization.
This is an excellent opportunity for an RDN who enjoys direct patient care while also helping develop innovative nutrition and wellness programs within a growing multidisciplinary practice.
Responsibilities
Patient Care & Medical Nutrition Therapy
- Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments and provide individualized, evidence-based medical nutrition therapy (MNT) in person and through telehealth.
- Develop practical, sustainable nutrition care plans based on patients' medical conditions, laboratory findings, medications, lifestyle, preferences, and health goals.
- Manage a longitudinal panel of patients with gastrointestinal, hepatic, metabolic, cardiometabolic, hormonal, and inflammatory conditions.
- Establish measurable nutrition goals and provide structured follow-up to assess progress and modify treatment plans.
- Provide nutrition therapy for gastrointestinal disorders, including IBS and other functional GI disorders, utilizing approaches such as low-FODMAP, elimination, and structured food-reintroduction protocols when clinically appropriate.
- Collaborate closely with gastroenterologists and other providers in the nutritional management of patients with liver disease, metabolic dysfunction, obesity, and other digestive disorders.
Metabolic & Weight Management
- Participate in comprehensive medical weight-management and metabolic-health programs.
- Support patients receiving GLP-1 and other medically supervised weight-management therapies.
- Develop individualized strategies addressing protein intake, micronutrient adequacy, preservation of lean muscle mass, gastrointestinal side effects, hydration, and long-term weight maintenance.
- Incorporate body-composition data and metabolic measurements into nutrition plans when appropriate.
- Help patients transition from active weight-loss therapy to sustainable long-term nutrition and lifestyle strategies.
Functional & Integrative Nutrition
- Work collaboratively with the clinical team to incorporate nutrition into individualized functional and integrative care plans.
- Review relevant laboratory and functional testing within the RDN scope of practice and translate clinically relevant findings into practical nutrition interventions.
- Provide nutrition strategies supporting metabolic health, healthy aging, hormonal health, perimenopause and menopause, PCOS, and thyroid-related conditions.
- Provide nutritional support for patients participating in medically supervised hormone, peptide, regenerative, and wellness programs.
- Develop appropriate protein, micronutrient, hydration, recovery, and body-composition strategies in coordination with the treating clinical team.
- Provide evidence-informed recommendations regarding nutritional supplementation and lifestyle interventions within the RDN scope of practice.
IV Nutrition & Wellness Programs
- Collaborate with the clinical team supporting the practice's IV nutrient infusion and wellness programs.
- Assess dietary intake and nutritional status and help identify nutritional considerations relevant to the patient's overall treatment plan.
- Integrate nutrition, supplementation, hydration, and lifestyle recommendations with other wellness interventions when clinically appropriate.
Practice growth & Engagement
- Serve as a nutrition resource for physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, health coaches, and other members of the clinical team.
- Participate in community education, patient seminars, health events, and practice outreach initiatives.
- Contribute to educational and marketing content, including articles, videos, social media, webinars, and patient education campaigns when appropriate.
- Help expand awareness and utilization of the practice's nutrition and wellness services.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Dietitian in Texas or eligible for Texas licensure with bachelors or master’s degree in nutrition, dietetics, or a related field.
- Strong foundation in evidence-based medical nutrition therapy, comfortable working with patients with gastrointestinal and metabolic conditions.
- Excellent counseling, communication, and behavior-change skills.
- Ability to independently manage a patient panel while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary clinical team.
- Strong organizational, documentation, and time-management skills with genuine interest in expanding knowledge of functional, integrative, and metabolic nutrition.
Bilingual English/Spanish skills are preferred.
