Senior Procurement Engineer - Capital EquipmentLocation: Torrington, CT, US, 06790 Date: Sep 1, 2026 Summary: We are currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Purchasing Engineer – Capital Equipment to join our team. Reporting to the Vice President of Supply Chain, this role is responsible for leading the technical and commercial sourcing of capital equipment, manufacturing systems, and engineered solutions required to support capacity expansion, technology development, and operational excellence initiatives across FuelCell Energy. This position serves as the critical interface between Engineering, Manufacturing, Project Management, Operations, and Suppliers to ensure the successful specification, sourcing, qualification, installation, and lifecycle management of capital assets. The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise with strategic sourcing capabilities to optimize total cost of ownership, mitigate supplier risk, and support business growth objectives.Essential Functions/Duties and Responsibilities:Capital Equipment Strategy & SourcingPurchasing Engineering LeadershipSupplier Development & Contract ManagementProject & Program ManagementCost Management & Continuous ImprovementCross-Functional CollaborationQualifications and Experience:Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Chemical, or related discipline) required.Experience: Minimum 7 years of experience in purchasing engineering, capital equipment procurement, manufacturing engineering, supplier development, or a related technical sourcing role.Candidate Must Have / Be:Technical ExpertiseProficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and Outlook.Experience with ERP systems.Familiarity with project management tools and capital project controls.Quality & ComplianceGeneral work is performed in both office and manufacturing environments. Must be able to travel between Connecticut facilities as required. Domestic and international travel up to 30%. Must be able and willing to wear required PPE in manufacturing and construction environments.
