About the Opportunity

The Tool Setter performs basic machining processes and learns more complex processes. This position focuses on new tool setter technology and RFID communications.

Location

Stuart, FL - Onsite. Monday to Thursday, 5 AM to 3 PM.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

• Laying out tools for all manual, CNC, or EDM machines to perform completely and independently specific operations as outlined in the methods and process sheets.
• Changing, setting, and adjusting precision tools as required.
• Loading and deleting programs in the computer.
• Making minor adjustments of feeds and speeds on the assigned machine.
• Learning the machinability of metals.
• Grinding own cutting tools and drills (other than special purpose tools).
• Maintaining specific tolerances and accurately performing dimensions.
• Checking parts using specified gages or furnished fixtures to ensure dimensions are maintained.
• Performing routine maintenance checks and reporting improper machine function.
• Communicating damaged tools to machinist for review.
• Maintaining a neat and orderly work area.
• Following all applicable safety rules and precautions.
• Assisting with related training of other employees as needed.
• Performing other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Required qualifications include:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of relevant manufacturing experience.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include:

• Working knowledge of the machinability of metals, with a good mechanical aptitude.
• Knowledge and ability to use machinist's hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
• Knowledge of shop geometry and trigonometry.
• Effective written and verbal communications skills to write routine reports and correspondence and to speak before employees in the organization.
• Good math skills, with the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and blueprints.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Working Conditions

Working conditions include:

• Must be able to have prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds, at times up to 50 pounds.
• Personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses and safety shoes) is required on the shop floor.
