Compressor MechanicThe Compressor Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of natural gas compression equipment in field and facility settings. This role focuses on ensuring reliability and efficiency of compression systems by performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing mechanical issues, and supporting safe, continuous operations.ResponsibilitiesPerform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on large horsepower compressor units and enginesInspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical issues on compressors, engines, and related systemsConduct preventative maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, and component inspectionsWork on major compressor components such as cylinders, valves, pistons, rods, and bearingsMaintain and repair associated equipment including coolers, separators, and control systemsMonitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reliabilityComplete teardown and rebuilds of compressor engines and components as neededRead and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and P&IDsEnsure proper documentation of maintenance activities and repairsFollow all safety procedures and company policies, including LOTO and PPE requirementsCoordinate with operations and engineering teams to minimize downtime and optimize performanceQualifications3+ years of experience working on large horsepower compressors and enginesExperience with compressor brands such as Ariel, Caterpillar, Waukesha, or Ajax preferredStrong knowledge of natural gas compression systems and engine mechanicsExperience performing full overhauls and rebuilds on compressor unitsAbility to troubleshoot mechanical and performance issues independentlyFamiliarity with safety standards and procedures in oil and gas environmentsAbility to work outdoors in varying weather conditionsHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent required.Must meet conditional job offer requirements including background, drug test, MVR, fit for duty and agility.
